Entries open Monday, January 9, 2012, and close on Friday, February 24, 2012.

 

The drawing will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2012; 12 noon, at the home of the Test Secretary. Priority will be given to non-titled ASCA registered Australian Shepherds, then to dogs without an ASCA title. Non-registered ASCA dogs should apply for an ASCA Tracking number.

Entry Limitations: There will be 5 TD tracks. Trial is open to all breeds, who must be six months of age or older. Entries must be on an official ASCA entry form and will not be accepted without fees and signature, and a statement of certification. When the limit of 6 dogs for the TD test have been drawn, all remaining entries, subject to the conditions set forth above, shall be assigned a position on the alternate list corresponding to the order in which they are drawn. The test secretary shall notify all entries of the results as soon as possible. All entries will not be accepted without proper fees. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry. All returned checks are subject to a fee of $35.00.

 

REFUNDS: No entry fee will be refunded after closing date, except the entry of a non-participating alternate, or, if an accepted entry cancels and the secretary is able to replace the entry from the alternate list. No entry fee will be refunded if the show cannot be opened or completed by reasons of riots, civil disturbances, fires, acts of God or public emergency.

 

Event Information:

Test Entrants must be at the Test Site by 9:00 a.m. on March 11, 2012, at which time there will be a drawing for tracks for each dog entered. The first track will be run as soon thereafter, as it has aged the proper length of time. In the event of absentees among the confirmed entries, the next alternate, in catalog order, who is present, will be allowed to fill the vacancy. “Bitches in season may participate”, according to Chapter 2, Section 8 of ASCA tracking regulations.

Tracking will be held on land adjacent to the campground, on the cattle pastures of Braeburn Farm. These are private properties, whose owners have graciously allowed us the use of it. Please act accordingly by keeping your pet on leash and clean up after yourselves and your pets.

 

Tracking Prizes & Awards:

The Carolina Australian Shepherd Club will offer a green ribbon and a prize to dogs passing the Tracking Dog test.

 

Directions:

From I-85/I-40, Burlington area: To get to Cane Creek Campground, take exit 145, Burlington/Liberty (Hwy 49). Take Hwy 49 South, continue approximately nine miles. Turn left onto Beale Road - there is a Campground sign before the turn, as well as signs to Lil’ John’s Mountain Music Park, which is held at the Campground.

 

Follow Beale Rd, approx. one mile to an intersection, go straight across. Longest Acres Rd. will be on the left, approximately three miles from Hwy 49, with a sign marking Cane Creek Campground. Turn into the campground and we will be meeting up in the campground area at the log cabin.
